“Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned for until the Law sin was in the world, but sin is not imputed when there is no law. Nevertheless death reigned from Adam until Moses, even over those who had not sinned in the likeness of the offense of Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come.—Romans 5:12-14 NASB
“The Lord commanded the man, saying, ‘From any tree of the garden you may eat freely; but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die.’” –Genesis 2:16-17 NASB
“When the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was desirable to make one wise, she took from its fruit and ate; and she gave also to her husband with her, and he ate.” –Genesis 3:6 NASB
In the year of 2020, the nations of the world were exposed to what has been labeled, a “pandemic” that had been unleashed from Wuhan China. There are some that say it was bioengineered in a Wuhan laboratory and purposefully or accidentally unleashed upon the world, rather than a naturally occurring virus. Whatever the case, it has radically and negatively impacted billions of lives worldwide. Billions of people have experienced various forms of “lockdown,” from complete quarantine to minimal movement to going shopping requiring masks, six feet social distancing, and an identification to show that a person in a lockdown area is an “essential” worker. Many businesses, mosques, churches, schools, theaters, entertainment, sports venues, some government, and hospital services were closed and not available in order to get a “handle” on the “COVID-19” virus in order to keep it from spreading.
In America, many saw a great transfer of wealth as only a selective group (even in the most austere of states)—Casinos, Cannabis stores, Planned Parenthood, box stores like Walmart, Sam’s Club, Costco, Whole Foods, etc. were allowed to continue their operations while smaller stores, gyms, hair salons, restaurants, schools, and for the first time in the history of our country, even churches and other religious institutions had to close their doors. The secondary consequences of the virus presented itself in taking its toll reflecting an increase in social isolation, anxiety, depression, suicides, domestic abuse, increased drug, and alcohol abuse, job losses, many deaths of the elderly in nursing homes, and educational neglect for children. Never in the history of the world, inclusive of World War I, World War II, Korean War, War of Vietnam, Iran, Iraq and Afghanistan, have we ever seen or experienced a global lockdown due to a virus. FEAR has reigned in the hearts of men and women globally because of global government and media.
What is a pandemic? How is it defined? According to Merriam Webster, a pandemic is “an outbreak of a disease that occurs over a wide geographic area (such as multiple countries or continents) and typically affects a significant proportion of the population : a pandemic outbreak of a disease.”
I propose to you that the “Original Pandemic” that I speak of, is an all-inclusive—(everyone is born with this condition) spiritual disease called SIN, which has contaminated the entire human race, separating us from a relationship with God our Creator. It is the critical disease that the first man—Adam brought upon the entire human race to which, regarding our nature, Paul, the Apostle, says, “. . . for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God . . .”—(Romans 3:23 NASB).
Sin at its root or core is a lack of faith or unbelief in God and His word. Again, the Apostle Paul explains this condition of unbelief when he states, “But the natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them . . .”—I Corinthians 2:14 NASB. The Tanakh, also the Old Testament, the prophet Isaiah says “All of us like sheep have gone astray, Each of us has turned to his own way; But the Lord has caused the iniquity of us all To fall on Him.”—Isaiah 53:6 NASB
What is the answer for reversing this spiritual condition that condemns the human race to death and eternal separation from the presence of God the Father? Paul, the Apostle, answers yet again, “Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord . . .”—(Romans 7:25a) Dear Christian, you and I have the answer and responsibility to share the Gospel—”Good News” about Jesus Christ to everyone we can. The “everyone” is inclusive of family members, car mechanics, mail persons, grocers, hospital personnel, teachers, individuals on our jobs we have established relationships with, and others in and out of our circle of influence we interact with on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. You may ask, “Why should I?.”
You should because Jesus came to save the lost, and LOST LIVES MATTER!
